Rubber nubs for passenger seat?
I've read around that most people lose these nubs or they fall off. I bought a used passenger seat on ebay and it didn't come with any nubs and it's been a pain in the butt getting the thing on and off. Where can I get the nubs? What do they even look like?!

I got them from the dealer. They are "dampers." It seems that they weren't installed fully at the factory even when they look fully inserted. When they realized that they were coming off, they started adding glue during the manufacturing process, which did absolutely nothing: I lost mine on the rid home from the dealer. I got them replaced under warranty and inserted them myself and they never came off despite taking mine on and off multiple times per day for four years to use the helmet lock.
The rubber cone on the damper fits into a hole in the seat plastic that seems almost impossibly small. You can't just push it in because the rubber deforms. If you push and twist, it will start to go in. Most people stop when there is no gap between the rubber and the plastic because it seems like it can't go any farther, but it can. Eventually it will pop in and twisting will get easier. That's when it is finally fully installed. There is no way to tell visually, which is why they missed it in the factory. |

No makeshift solutions? "Dealer" = gouging.

Two Super Sliders and some real good glue. (7 months and holding) If they fall off I got plenty of replacements for $3.00.

Seriously? It's under $3 a damper and you'll never have to do it again.

Well, not really. I mean, I can get the seat on there whenever I take my toolkit out and my girlfriend never complains when she's on it, but when there's no load it wiggles around a bunch and it takes finesse to slide back on. I didn't even know anything was missing until I traded seats with a buddy and his seat fit perfectly. Soooo yup.
