This argument started because someone essentially said pods are pointless.

Many of us believe under certain circumstances ( bike setup, weather, desired powerband, etc), pods can be beneficial. That's all.

No!? No one!?

Astounding...
When did having a stock exhaust become a requirement to this argument?

I bought my bike used and it came without an airbox and pods already installed so that's probably the way ill keep it. I am having carb issues in the mid to higher rpm ranges but that is because the guy who installed the pods didn't rejet the bike like he was supposed to.

Actually I do have proof, look at the dynos for any of the CVMA guys, they pump out 30-32 hp with the full stock airbox, yea that includes the snorkel.

The point he was making was that it was the pod filters by themselves increasing hp. If you change pods and exhaust you can't see the difference of just the pods.

When I changed to pods, that was the only thing I did. I got a pretty good power increase. Conclusion- Pod filters increase power.

Yeah, that pod really screams over my Yoshimura exhaust at wot. You know what, you're probably right. There's no way removing a gigantic restriction from the intake and going up a couple jet sizes would result in more power. All that extra fuel must be just depleting the ozone layer. I probably was going slower and didn't even realize it because my butt dyno is worn out after ten years of riding motorcycles. So glad I have Jiggles across the country to tell me that my motorcycle is slower and gayer than before.

Awesome! You can help me rip off all my slow gay crap and show me how to invest in tasteful mods like smashed fairings and broken handlebars.

All thoughts on pod filters aside, did you change your jetting at all? If not, you need to.

I believe he did.
