Bike starts without choke
If my bike starts up fine without the choke, there's no reason to give it any, right?
I hope this isn't the dumbest, n00biest question you've heard all day. But I'm a noob, so deal with it |

You may want to make sure you are not low on blinker fluid when ever mine is low it starts with out the choke.

1) alex is right.
but 2) does it start and idle perfectly at 1300 (or wherever you have hot idle set) right away? or is it barely idling at 1000 rpm and argues with throttle, but since it physically started, it's obviously not in need of choke? My bike always would physically start without choke; no matter how hot or cold. But it liked starting better with a little choke. Idle was more steady a little higher, throttle was smoother, warmed up quicker, etc. I'm just curious as to what a noob's perspective of 'doesn't need choke' involves. I haven't found a 250 yet (started about 5) that didn't start better with choke. |

Mine starts without the choke pretty much every time. If it sounds like it is going to die on you right when you start it, you may want to use some, but if it goes right to a normal (cold) idle, then you are probably fine.

After the valve adjust and carb sync mine starts and idles no problem with or without the choke.

Started mine this morning with just a little choke, fired up pretty quick, and then proceded to let out one helluva back fire! I just about pissed myself it was so loud, didn't help the rear of the exhaust was pointing back towards the garage which made it that much louder!
