She must have been down there for a while. There was a tree growing out from between her legs.
When I saw the guy with the chainsaw I thought they were going to bring her up in pieces.

She was so lucky he came along when he did cause there is no knowing how long she was down there for or even how long she might have stayed there had he not gone down to investigate.

Thats great. there are a lot of good people out there!
One night I was driving home down a back road and I heard a blip blip noise of running something over. I turned around to see what it was. I found power lines on the road and diagonally up the way a broken telephone pole... I followed a path of mashed trees and brush past the pole 150' through a ditch and into the crap and found a full size pickup with the top of the live power lines stuck on it wrapped around a big tree with the driver unconscious slumped over the steering wheel. I didn't have a mobile phone so I ran back to the road and started banging on house doors until someone answered to call 911. His truck was still running and it was about 2 am. I ran back and tried to pry the doors open but there were power lines all over and the doors were stuck from body bending. The fireman made me leave the area so because of the danger. I was worried the guy was going to die of CO2 poisoning! He was drunk driving and because his body was loose he suffered no injuries except where his face hit the windshield lol less heart touching experience. but I was glad he was alright. Freaked me out, I was about 18 at the time. This guy was smart to hold her hand and wait for paramedics !

Nice.
Good reminder to all of us that ride alone - cell phone set up, charged up, secured to yourself and easy to access with either hand. Makes me wanna carry a few flares! Tough lady. Hope she recovered well. |

Better than a cell would be some sort of personal beacon.
Cell phones are fragile things and dependent on signal, many places don't have coverage despite verizon's claim. I have a SPOT in my chest pocket that never leaves me. Figured i'd suffer any sort of pain and trauma needed to get that thing out and the button pushed.
