Question accessories list to get after bike

Ok so i'll be getting a ninja 250r for my 40th birthday in july

I already have a helmet and gloves.

my wife wants me to putt together a list (basically like a registry ) of things that i want so she can make sure i get them.

this is what i have so far

leather armored jacket 250-500
rain jacket 150
boots 150
tank protector 30
taillight with integrated turn signals 100
rear fender removal kit < i think that's what it's called 100
mirrors with integrated led turn signals 100
rear seat cowl cover 100
clip ons 200

I don't want to play with exhaust or performance just yet

I'm pretty lucky to have generous friends and family at the same time i don't to ask for stuff that's too expensive .. so i hope to have things that are under 100

what else should i ask for ?

let me know

- A decent magnetic tank bag. Trust me... you'll want to carry stuff from time to time.

There are many choices. I happen to use the Axio bag, but there are less expensive options. Just make sure it'll hold what you need to carry (a laptop, for instance). Be careful not to let dirt, nails etc. stick to it or you'll ruin your paint!!!!

- A mirror-on-a-telescoping-stick (any hardware store) makes checking your oil a lot easier. The sight glass is positioned so you have to have the bike standing straight up to check the oil... but it's not visible while you're sitting on the bike no matter how you contort yourself. Why it's like that is beyond me.

- A kickstand plate so you can park on grass or gravel (tie a string to it and loop the string over your handlebars so you won't forget). I keep mine tucked between my windscreen and the dash -- I've got a dark smoke Double Bubble screen so only I see it.

More as I think of it

True. I like to check my oil without having to bother with stands, though.

Which reminds me... spools and a rear paddock stand. VERY useful for doing any and all work on your bike, from changing the oil to lubing your chain. Adding a front stand is good for winter storage, too. T-rex makes good ones, not that expensive. Harbor Freight are crap... don't bother.

Tip about stands... also get a chunk of wood (a piece of 2x4) and put it under the kickstand to get the bike more upright. Also put a velcro tie around the front brake to hold the bike steady as you hoist.

Like the junction box pad. Back in the days when people didn't think twice about littering, we'd just find a soda or beer can and flatten it.

I now have several free "real" ones... they're often given away at events. I have one from an MSF booth, one from a visit to the Competition Accessories retail store and a SPEED one from going to the MotoGP race in Indianapolis.

The mirrors with turn signals should be around $40-50
Chop the rear fender yourself...it is easy.
Cyclegear has boots for $75 right now or you could get tourmaster solutions for a little over $100

I have the Bilt boots from cyclegear and they're a steal for the money. The US sizing is off.. they're tagged one US size larger than they actually are. The euro size (stamped on the sole) is accurate.
