Well this is my car, but I put it back to stock a couple months ago. It just became too much of a hassle to drive on the street for a whole list of reasons. Kids trying to race and generally driving aggressively around me, could never make it CA legal, law enforcement profiling, etc. Oh and 91 octane sucks.

Cayman S only makes < 300 at the wheels and weighs like 3k lbs. A lot of cars could walk all over that and a 2000 lb honda with 270 at the wheels would be one of them without a doubt.

cynical is right..the Cayman would lose..and badly..from a dig it'd be interestign due the fat torque curve on the CaymanS...but it would be short lived with the revability and the gears and boost from the <2600lb Integra..

i have outrun some gnarly cars...intake,exhaust,software Z06's, 911' with exhaust and software, tons of ricers, boost stangs, boosted camaro's blahblah..even got a couple of 600's under my belt(from a dig) due to launching perfectly and just getting lucky..

a price tag and a pedigree don't mean much against a well built, lightweight vehicle.

the cayman is a heaavvyy mr car..it has a mild comp boxer6 and a fairly sluggish gearbox..a newer S2000 would beat it pretty badly as it weighs almost 1000lbs less and make close to the same whp..

anyway. some beauts on here

btw..91 is tuneable for a FI car, watermeth is a greatanswer, but a smar ttuner can defeat the knock with a well cooled charge and timing timing timing.... biggest killers of power on 91 octane boosted cars is a bad intercooler and bad timing maps.

our "92" here..yeah..afte ri moved here in early 08..i went out and got fuel from 16 stations along my paths of travel..all but two tested at 92octane..from the 92 octane pumps..lots of sand, salt, water and oil in the fuels..along with tank debris and other stuff...now..those stations are frequently filled so i am sure at any given moment 3-5 actually have good 92..but it's killer..i tune for 91..run the 92 wish i had watermeth and keep an eye on my timing with weekly datalogging.

it's nice to run a single bottle of octane booster, not for the octane boost..but for the additives in it to help combat knock.. i would never move to cali, especially cos of the crazy car laws there.

that was a nice subie!!..should've made it a bit more sleeper man!!!

keep the sweet cages comin!!

love this car...2010 E-Class. Looks so sexy parked next to my bike they compliment each other so well. Both have nice sporty cuts, and sharp looking front ends

Well it was tuned for 93 in NY where we had 94 at the pumps. I sort of just "de-tuned" it for 91 when I moved to CA. Data logged for a couple weeks and it was fine. Still making about 300 but I was having some boost creep issues and things were just becoming a headache. Fact is there are enough tracks around here that it doesn't make any sense to have a built street car. I'm thinking about building a miata for the track.

Btw your car is a beast.

are you aware they run autocross meets down at Aloha Stadium on a regular basis? not a race track, but it's at least something. let's see how your beast does against fast, nimble cars.

it's a overally political and judgemental scene here..which describes Oahu in a nutshell, i hate this island, it's a shithole, i am still hunting for the perfect house in volcano to this day :]

back in Dc i was an instructor for the WDCR-SCCA..did PDX, HPDE, licenses testing and training, etc

and my car is more time-attack based..not autox..it's a bit too "explosive" if you will lol..

and drag racing..well, jus tno tmy bag. every now and again sure. but i prefer tactics, technique and a combo of speed and grriippp in the turns!!

1966 Corvair - This was my first car. I ended up selling this car to my uncle who had helped me with its restoration.

1991 Nissan 240sx with Blacktop SR20 swap - I've owned this car for 6 years. Lots of goodies on it, haven't driven it in about 2 years because of other priorities. Once I finish my MS I'll start tinkering with it again. The SR has been a super reliable motor so far. I'd drive it if I wasn't already making payments on a Ford Ranger and Ninja.

Nice to see so many Subie enthusiasts on here. I miss my old WRX.
DSCN2876.jpg

Used to have an old 2.5RS too, traded it in for the WRX.
DSCN9879.jpg

Currently parked in the garage:
1998 Camry (in Grandma Gold, no less) - this is the beater, when not riding my Ninja, this is what gets me around.
2008 VW Jetta - what the wife usually drives

Past cars:
'88 Beretta GT (first car, hand-me-down from mom)
'93 Probe SE
'95 Probe GT
'01 Focus ZX3
'97 Talon TSi (FWD only )
'02 WRX wagon
'00 Impreza 2.5RS
'04 Mazda 3 hatchback
'06 Scion xA
'04 Mazda MPV (mini-van, mega fun)

When I was talking to my wife about getting a motorcycle I had originally been trying to talk her into letting me look into a 2006-2007 WRX STi but it's damn near impossible to find a good used one that wasn't modded and/or beat on so I gave up on that pretty quick. Glad I did really, I'd rather have the Ninja anyway. (and cheaper gas, insurance, maintenance, etc, etc)

Yeah they are really good cars. Can be quite robust too for a little 2.5. I would love to find a clean 2-door rs and do an sti swap and track it. Will never happen though as that just wouldn't be cost effective. I bought my 06 on a whim and have been pretty happy with it. Just gonna move on to something else now.

Also, I'm totally jealous of the new gen fitting 275s on a 10" wheel. Too legit.

That was originally my plan with my old 2.5RS but I always lusted after having a WRB wagon and swapping on some gold wheels and when I found a killer deal on one I dumped my thoughts of the doing the swap. I ended up sinking too much money into the WRX and decided to get rid of it for something cheaper and economical so I wouldn't be tempted to tinker with it. I always enjoyed the Subie waves I'd give/get from other Impreza 2.5 and WRX drivers but once the market got flooded with cheap, used Imprezas and younger guys bought them b/c they were cheap and fast some of that camaraderie was lost and when I'd wave at other Subie drivers they'd look at me like I was an idiot.

Eh some people wave and some don't. I throw up a deuce if I think it's an enthusiast. I've been caught off guard before with people waving and me not having time to "reply". On the east coast, 2 door / 2.5 RS was like one in a million. They're more common over here, driven by old ladies. So you can pick them up cheap when they kick it. But yeah with the amount it would cost to do the swap, you're way better off just starting with a newer wrx.

I wouldn't trade my swapped RS for a "real" WRX or STi.

I love the two door body style. That combined with the lighter weight make it an easy choice for me.

2010 WRX sedan with complete exhaust, CAI and Cobb AP running 293/322 hp/tq on 91 octane. Lowered with suspension & lightweight rims too. We got 100 octane at the pump here a few miles away. Would like to get a 93 or 94 map made and toggle back and forth when I feel the need. Although if I do that, I'd like to ditch the cat...and I just don't want to do that anymore. Stinks bad and I worry every time there is a cop behind me.

Yeah I'm wondering what dyno. Especially with an OTS map, that seems pretty high.

Here is my 350z. I had her for about 4 years now. It has a Vortech supercharger, and acouple of supporting mods.

I have been working on cars for years. The Ninja 250 is my first bike. I am totally new to bikes ( and carbs!! ). The bike has several quirks to work out, but working on it has been very rewarding.

This is the first car me and my wife bought. We had to sell it few months ago. She became too unreliable for the needs. It's a 1996 Ford Ka. 1,3l 60hp engine, incredible handling and around 900 kg (2000 lb). Also one of the best looking cars ever, at least in my opinion. I always hoped we will be able to keep her forever but... damned money ruins everything.

The other is our current car, Citroen C1. Weighs around 800 kg (1750 lb), has 1l 65 hp engine and does not handle as good as Ka did. Does around 40 mpg in city and 50 mpg on the normal road. It has very long first second and third gear, and it's very easy to drive in the city because of it. As you can see it is small and easy to park anywhere

I was actually considering buying one when they first came out. I decided to hold off because there was very little aftermarket when they first released, as expected. I'm now interested in the new Focus ST.

Fiesta is a really nice car. We considered it but didn't have enough money. If I am not mistaken Fiesta is really designed by Ford, while new Ka and Focus are done by Fiat. I simply don't know what's got into them. In Europe Ford always stood for good quality and fair price, while fiat stood for junk at a price of a Ford.
I think Toyota Yaris and Mazda 2 are also available in the US. And if you want something really hot and sporty, why not MX5?

In the US, Ford always stood for junk at a price of a Ford. I guess till now since they're actually starting to make decent cars. (?)
