Throttle cable Re Install after putting carbs back
Hey guys.
I totally forgot how I disconnected the throttle cables to the carb. I looked for videos on you tube. Couldn't find any good ones. Does anybody have some good photos or videos that they could share? Thx in advance! |

Posts #8 and 11 in this thread have some photos of the cables connected to the carbs -
https://www.ninjette.org/forums/show...ht=carb+cables Basically you can hook up one cable and twist the grip to wide-open to confirm it is opening the butterflies. The other closes it. |

1. determine which cable-end is throttle-pull/open vs. throttle-close. Twist grip in towards open-throttle position and find cable-end that gets shorter as you open throttle.
2. put that cable-end on carb-opening side of throttle-cam. Although due to access & clearance issues, I prefer to put closing-cable on carb-closing side of throttle-cam first since it's slightly behind opening cable. |

Thank you!!
It appears that my return cable is just wires on the bottom....there isn't a little round piece to clip into carb. Since the previous owners really messed up a lot of things on this. I'm not even sure there was ever one in it. I for sure don't have it. Is this a piece that can be bought. Or do I have to buy a new return cable?
Thx again for all of the help while I try to get this bike back in shape! |

You're welcome!
Those barrel cable-ends are typically moulded on. Something like this may work. Measure diameter of other cable end to find exact size needed. http://www.myronsmopeds.com/category/cable-parts/ https://store.bevelheaven.com/Cables...rew-5.4mm-DIA/ https://www.ebay.com/itm/132337617406 Here's innovative way to re-mould cable-end using solder.
