Key doesn't work on trunk lock

My bike came with two keys from the dealer. I always used one till I misplaced it and now I'm using the spare. However, I am not able to open the trunk with this key. It works fine for ignition and fuel cap but doesn't budge when I put it into the trunk key hole. This never happened with the first key. Both the keys were new originals with the bike. Is it just a coincident that my trunk lock screwed up the same time I start using the second key? Or is it possible for a key to work one place and not another because of some manufacturing defect?

Would anyone be willing to take a close up shot of the trunk locking mechanism inside the trunk? I'm going to try throwing a string in there and see if I can locate and pull the locking latch manually.

Check to make sure the spare key isn't bent -- I had this problem once where pulling my key out of the ignition socket too forcefully had bent the key a little. It still worked in the ignition but wouldn't work in the trunk until I bent the key back.

Mine also try stopping by a locksmith and have them squirt some lubricant in the lock.

Try pushing down on the seat before turning the key as well. Sometimes that works pretty well for me.
