It tastes like farts and that one gross flavor that all cheap lite beers have. But I got a good buzz off of it.
By the by, it's not unlawful for me, a 19 year old, to drink in a private location (like my home). Or to make it. So don't scold me. I drink responsibly |

Is it against the law to drink even if you are above 18? What's the legal age for drinking outside your home? (sorry, but I do not drink, so I do not know it).

In the US you can't buy alcohol, have alcohol purchased for you under the age of 21. Most other countries, it's 18. There are state-by-state laws based on what criteria someone under 21 can drink. In some states, you need to be supervised by a parent or spouse.

I got a question for a few more-experienced fellers.
I've gotten more into the hobby, bought some proper airlocks and have made a few batches of rum (Bacardi can **** off. THIS is where it's at!) I've found that if you swish the container around as it's fermenting and burp it periodically, it ferments quicker. My guess is that it removes CO2 and aerates the container, which is more favorable to the yeast. However, it causes the brew to taste a lot worse. Why is this? |

Stop swishing and, make sure everything that comes into contact with your wort is sterilized, and your vapor locks are sealed.

Also, oxygen is beneficial only at the start of fermentation, when yeast needs it to multiply. When the oxygen runs out, the yeast concentrates on making alcohol instead. So reintroducing oxygen could get the yeast back into turning sugar into more yeast, rather than alcohol.
Worse than that, some bacteria, including the one that turns beer into vinegar, need oxygen. Adding oxygen during the fermentation invites that bacteria, which is always around in small numbers, to multiply. Enough of that and your beer starts smelling and tasting like it has vinegar in it. Another possible result of oxygen contamination is oxidation of some of the components of the beer, resulting in the taste of cardboard, or possibly sherry, which to me tastes like cardboard. |

Once fermenting, leave it alone. Homebrewtalk.com
Or google, quit trying to DIY without research. Beer is easy when you follow procedure and don't try to go cheap.

I currently am taproom manager at a beer brewery. Best. Job. Ever. I've written about beer in BeerAdvocate magazine. I know the facts...the ins and outs. But I've never put it into practice. I think it's time... We could learn together Snake!

I miss beer and liquor... But I don't miss hearing that my nightmares were true the next day, or even worse when folks filled in my memory gaps.

Try getting one of these. They have several flavours, such as apple, pomegranate, strawberry but the original malt flavour tastes similar to beer. No alcohol thou.
