2010 ex650r blue

for anyone else interested in a '10 ex650, you'll be surprised to see the full painted lower fairing, unlike the factory photos that show it black. was a pleasant surprise to match my '09 250 blue.

anyone have a favored 650 site as good as this group?

Looks like a great bike !

We never did get to meet up to ride. I'll definitely be making some trips down Hermann way this summer,i've got 3 day weekends till the end of august.

I would also be very interested in any info on the 650, or other forums where it is discussed. I've been looking to step up from the 250, and it seems to me like the 650 offers a comfortable ride, yet it still retains the sport styling that I prefer. I don't think I need a flat out race machine like the ZX, and I would like to stick with Kawasaki, so from everything I've read, the 650 looks like the perfect machine for me. It also helps that I'm small/short, and I think the 650 is tailored a bit toward smaller riders.

Can anyone offer more insight into the 650? Or point me in the proper direction?

Thanks!

I got a good look at this color in the review linked to on Kawiforum's main page. VERY nice.

I prefer the '08 windscreen/headlight. I wish that they would color the passenger seat area of the "bananna seat" so that it would look more sporty like they did with some colors in previous years (green on '08, silver on '06, IIRC) and the sport cowl options make me prefer black. I guess I just want the best of both worlds.

I've never been able to find good sites for the 650 sadly. Just the various Kawasaki forum websites with general sections for it. It's a great bike though! It's what I ended up starting out with.

650 sites

Hey guys, there are some great sites out there for the Ninja 650's
Here's the ones I'm a member of, I will hopefully have a new 650R in about 2 weeks!

http://www.kawiforums.com/ninja-650r-er6/

http://www.riderforums.com/forumdisp...aysprune=&f=86

http://www.brp650forum.com/phpBB3/index.php

That last one is great cause the Mod runs a shop that sells aftermarket parts, and the technical advice is excellent.
riderforums.com is also run by a 650 parts store, link is below.

http://www.ninja650shop.com/

Hope it helps, and see you on there!!

Great looking bike. I have always like the ease of adjustability on the side mounted shock.

funny you mention the shock- off topic, the factory sets the "preload" at 4 (1softest, 7 strongest). for these 500 miles miles i haven't been comfortable from the rear at all so i put it back to 1. now i'm comfortable. this all coming from a 250 lbs rider.

those bars look higher than the gas tank and almost as high as the windscreen. is it possible to adjust them naturally without needing to purchase clipons? im not too familiar with the 650r

both of the bikes are stock and yes, the 250's grips are lower and more sporty than the position of the 650. so far with about a month and 500 miles i'm still getting used to the added heft/ weight, power, and weight distribution change on/ off throttle. from what i've read the FI shuts off eagerly at deceleration to protect the catalyst?

here's a shot of the bar.

Another 650R!!

I've just bought a 650R in the same colour!!! I pick it up on Saturday after the finance is finalised. I can't wait!

The 10min testride was more than enough to convince me I had made the right decision, wow what a bike!!!

I think the bars need to be lowered, and I have been looking at the Sportsbars V3 sold at ninja650shop.com, but I will see how things go once I ride it more!!!

Roll on Saturday!

Not upgrading anytime soon, but either this or the sv650 would be my likely step up when/if I do. Looks great. Think that ninja650shop.com site has aftermarket bars that lower it down to a sportier stance I think too.

I didn't buy one just because of the handlebars and the fact that the shifter and rear brake lever seems really close into the bike (pigeon toed to just use them?). The handle bars are REALLY far up compaired to the 250. As for seat it feels just like the 250 as far as height / width really.

I love the blue. The BRP forums are pretty nice. The owner (greg) is looking to build a 650R community much like the ninjette community found here.
