need help really quick (rtv setting soon!!)

There isn't enough clearance for me to get to two bolts on my cylinder head cover out of six with my torque wrench. The only thing that will fit is a little breaker bar I have. I don't want to guess the torque...but I may have to. Bad or good ?

What if tighten down pretty well and later go back and tighten using a torque wrench that will fit ? No way I'd be able to do it soon. The rtv fully sets in 24 hours, so will it be had if I go and do it in say six ?

Just don't over tighten. It's aluminum, I usually do it til it's tight, but not really yanking on it.

Tighten one of the reachables with the torque wrench then undo it and redo it to the same position (exact angle of wrench handle) a couple of times with a normal socket to get a "feel memory" for the torque
Then quickly do the 2 to the same "feel" .
Usually with aluminium err on the less side

What is the recommended torque and how much lever your tool has?

Couldn't you just have pulled the cover off until you had the right tool? It's just rtv. You could just scrape and redo.

Yep, "calibrate" your arm... it can be done and done accurately

That didn't cross my mind.

I couldn't find torque wrench small enough anyway.

VERY VERY VERY rough rule of thumb...

Pulling with one finger till it starts to get a bit uncomfortable (like, fingernail getting pale) = about 10 ft lbs
Two fingers, 20
Thee, 30

Rinse and repeat

Use for emergencies only.

The "calibrate your arm" described above is a great idea.
