Newgen tank on a pregen?

Picked up a pregen ex250 for dirt cheap... The plastics were trashed, and the tank is junk. So i'm gonna do a streetfighter look for it. I have been having difficulty finding a replacement fuel tank. So, my question is, will a newgen tank bolt up to a pregen frame? Don't care if it looks the best... Just will it fit?

NO, won't fit

The tanks are about 2 inches different in length, with the newgen being longer.
They have to fit above the top tube, which is very different on each model both in angle and length.

If you have metal working tools and are a decent tin-man, you could make it work. Probably about 10 hours of work through primer.

Hope this helps,
Cheers,

Thanks, no, that probably won't work at all then... I am a diesel tech, not a metal fab guy. Thanks though!

A little more info please

I'm a little confused. You have a pregen bike that needs a new tank, and found a newgen tank. Right?
If so, are you looking for a pregen tank?

I have one, but the inside is rusty. It might work for you if that's a help.

maybe a better buy

Jeff,
The above post may be a better buy for you than my tank.
Cheers, Jim
