Bought a 2nd 250 ninja cause it was CHEAPPP!!!

Although it's not running. It's a clean 2005 dark blue/silver with orange stripe with 5500 miles. Got it for $660 with a helmet/jacket for the wife that fits her perfect and a nice cover that was pretty new. Bike sat for a couple years. Orig owner said she drained the tank which she did, but after it had already sat. Bought a POR-15 cycle tank kit for $45 to condition and coat the tank, cleaned the carbs, bought one float needle, two float bowl gaskets and a new petcock for $105 total, and it needs a battery. Overall, I'll be into the bike for $980 once I'm done. It could use some tires however since the ones on there are OEM and are hard and fairly worn. Will probably grab another set of Kendas and another 15T sprocket. By then I'll have $1100 into it. Still cheaper than the 2007 I just bought last month for $1260, although that one was running, it had been down on both sides and has a dent in the gas tank with 6k miles. This thing is pristine

Anyway, it's a pain in the ass and I'm not even halfway done. I won't buy another non-running bike. The extra work is not worth the trouble...especially since I have plenty of money...I just like a challenge sometimes and bragging rights on a good deal. Regardless, I'm excited about it and should have it done by this sunday after buying it on friday.

Sounds like Case86's deal but paying a bit less in San Diego, no less, is surprising.

Just got all the parts in today and YESSS! It runs REALLY good. So happy. Runs better than my '07. Jetting seems more spot on. Feels more lively too. Total of $980 invested. Borrowed the battery out of my '07 and took it for a 40 mile round trip. I'll get some pics up soon =)

Cool

Nice,

My 1st Ninja was an 05 that was neglected and sat with old fuel in tank & carbs for over 2 yrs., some broken plastics, it had little over 6000 mi. on it and needed some tires, I bough it for $450.

I fixed it up, rode it 3 times a week to school that's 46 mi. away. After 3 months of school I sold it for $2200. but I seem to miss the little 250 that get well over 70 mpg. I bought myself an 04 model with 8k mi., 2-Bros exhaust for $850.

The cheap deals tend to occur during winter months for me, then summer time at the height of riding season is the better time to sell to make a profit.

Here in San Diego...there doesn't seem to be near as great of a price fluctuation between seasons. You got some great deals there!
