Talking Quick trip report from NC/TN mt ride

Hey guys! I'm gone for less than 3 full days and I have nearly 1,700 unread posts! You all have been busy!

We had an awesome trip. We started by staying in a cabin at our favorite campground. We've always set up camp there, so this was our first experience in the cabin. Anyone ever been to or heard of the Ironhorse Motorcycle Lodge in Stecoah , NC? http://ironhorsenc.com/ If you're ever in town to enjoy the Cherohala Skyway (A MUST!) or the Dragon, the Ironhorse is a top-notch place to stay! Camping is dirt cheap, and you're able to use their nice bathhouse. Or you can plan to spend a little more $$ and enjoy their basic but adequate cabins. The lodge also has a kitchen and cooks breakfast and dinner daily. The breakfast is delicious and just hits the spot before a long day of riding, and the dinners are friggin gourmet...you're talking menu items such as prime rib, chicken parmigiana, BBQ, etc.

Anyway, hubby and I hit up the Dragon a few times this trip and took the Blue Ridge Pkwy from Cherokee to Asheville. We stayed there the 2nd night, the Beer Capital of the World, and enjoyed some locally brewed beers after a long day of incredible riding!

In every adventure, there are unexpected wrenches thrown in here and there. The main one we encountered was me getting pulled over on the Dragon going 40mph in a 30mph zone on a straight. There were squids all over the place taking the straights at 60+ with little or no gear, but the cop decided to pull me over instead. I felt slightly picked on, but the good thing is, he didn't give me a ticket. In GA, we don't need vehicle registration on us (just license and insurance), but they require it in TN. Just FYI for anyone planning to travel through. I didn't have mine. Oops.

From riding hundreds of twisties, whitewater rafting the Nantahala, and sitting on top of a hidden waterfall we found on the BRP, we had the time of our lives! Just wanted to share it with people who I knew would understand.

I just made it back home yesterday. A whole week without climbing the hill!

It would have been fun to meet up with you folks. Perhaps next time....

You got to meet Blount County’s finest Sounds like it worked out O.K. and the rest of the trip was great.

Look me up next time.

It was actually the top of a pretty nice sized waterfall!! Yeah, that was our favorite part too.
