Anyone tried porting cbr 250rr's engine in ninjette?
I was just thinking if anyone tried putting a cbr 250rr's engine in ninja?
Because i have seen guys adding a 2 stroke engine to Ninja and electric motor too :P I can think of some difficulties like, fuel injection for two more cylinders ( or carbs ) . fitment problems but a guy good with this stuff will easily handle it But both being 250, hopefully engine will fit in easily? Or is it gonna be too wide for being an inline 4? Exhaust will be available from market or customised so not an issue. Why ? because i love the sound of 4 cylinder bikes. plus cbr's engine is pretty famous for being bulletproof :P AND !!! That engine revs LIKE A BAWSS !! .. damn it >_> i am NOT a technician ! Just had a thought about this. i am damn sure others also give it a thought. I have seen you guys spending hundreds on performance mods on your 250 -.- i wish they didn't launch cbr with single cylinder .. duh ~ that thumper sounds like ****.

Why go through all that trouble to desecrate the hollowed ninjette with a Honda engine? If you can gain access to one of the Kawasaki 250 inlines that they were making up until about 2010 in Japan, I'd go for that.
Or, you could try to get your hands on the actually ZX250 itself from overseas, bring it here and even add a body kit to it: Yes, that is an actual ZX250R with a Tyga Performance body kit on it.

The turbo should now be possible though since there is an aftermarket EFI kit available and tunable!

they do exist QQ ? import taxes kill it. 100 % in india. ninja got good looks.. just i need an inline 4 >_> actually wanted a 600 cc bike. But even with ckd ( complete knockdown kit ), i ended up paying 7 k dollars. which is only available on ninja 250r and 650. which importing ninja 250r directly in one piece will make it go upto 10 k to 11k. u guys want smaller bikes in USA? we want bigger bikes in india. lets exchange XDDD

Well all 4 Japanese manufacturers had 250cc inline 4's in the 90's. Kawasaki made their inline 4 250cc and 400cc motors in a ZRX style bike up until about 2010. All of the inline 4 250cc motors were rated as high as 45hp at the crank. Of course they didn't have as much torque as the P2 motors, and revved insanely high (think Formula 1 racing car high revving).
Oh and they do make 6 cylinder motorcycles. Hell they make large ass V8 motorcycles for that matter. There even used to be rotary engine motorcycles. None of them are sport bikes however and I wouldn't bother with V8 or the older rotaries (since the rotary bikes are no longer made it would be too much trouble for any parts and service). The 6 cylinder bikes that I know of are cruisers and touring (Valkyries and Goldwings from Honda) with only the touring ones still being made. They are huge just so you know and brand new cost about $25k here in the states. Sorry, saw your signature and thought I would also respond to that.

You'll never see that then. There is no point in doing a 1000cc 6 cylinder for racing or a sport bike. The current I4 motors already do so much I highly doubt anyone is even considering it. The only 6 cylinder bike I know of currently being made is the Goldwing. And that is an 1800cc opposed 6. If anything the future of racing will see a gradual switch to electric powered instead of more cylinders.

Hehehe, yah I went and looked that up earlier. Really cool tourers imo.
What's the fuel economy on one of those things anyway?

It varies. I've gotten as low as 25 mpg when I'm really on it on the twisties, and nudged 40 mpg on the highway. Some people online are saying they are getting closer to 50 mpg on the highway, but that must be at speeds closer to 60 - 65 mph rather than 75 - 80 mph.
P.S. - anything with 160+ hp that can bounce off of its 155 mph limiter gets to keep the "sport" designator in its sport-touring status.

With turbo engines, as long as you keep good lubrication, run safe air fuel ratios and don't exceed the limits of the engine, it should stay as reliable as an NA motor and last about as long.
Where we generally see failure in the Honda game is the rods giving out from pushing more power than they can take. Pistons crack from running too lean or too much advance. Valvetrain suffers from revving too high, where power is really made, and floating valves from not having hard enough springs, or wearing rockers and cams down from too hard of springs and not good enough oil. Lubrication can be an issue from lubrication issues which could be the oil pump failing. Head gaskets fail from the head lifting under more power, so ARP head studs are generally installed from the start. The ignition system can see shorter life because there's more resistance in bridging the spark gap while under boost than being at under atmospheric pressure as you normally are on an NA motor. If you get down to it, everything on the engine has a certain limit of what it will take. Don't exceed it and you won't have issues. As far as turbos, there are already a couple very small ones, including one that some people put on racing lawnmowers and Honda Ruckus scooters (50cc). How that would work for these engines, I do not know and you may need to find something bigger. Get in touch with AFI Turbo or Blue Ridge Motorsports if you're really thinking of turboing something. There's stand alone ignition systems, cam triggers, all kinds of stuff used on cars and possibly usable on bikes to do anything crazy you can think of.

anything is possible. no such this as discrediting something if you add Honda to it..you actualy make it better ya i said it..
but seriously. if you can imagine something...start chopping, wrenching and welding.you can make anything. basicaly if you an support the motor. line the chain up. feed the motor with gas and connect controls your good to go...theres been v8s stuff in miatas. theres been hyabusa motors put in smart kars. k24 motors in mini coopers. anything is possible.

Give it time, a cheap enough fuel injected Honda will come up and I'll do it.
