Bent front lever

Don't ask me how it happened. But how would you bend it back? Need some ideas cause I'm cheap.

Put it in a vise, heat it, bend it back carefully.

Don't use your hands to bend it.

impact driver or a #3 phillips head and a mallet.

I had the same problem... just about sold the bike to not have to deal with it. Heat sometimes breaks up the red loctite on it. GOD SPEED.

Try the #3 and a mallet with some heat. If that doesn't work just do what I did and drill the mother F***ing head off then slid the bar end off. Next use the heat then grab the exposed threads of the bolt with and pair of vise grips and it should come out easy.

Same **** happened to me the other day ... torch the center of the phillips head for a few minutes, then try to work the screw off.

Ok, bent lever is easy. Put it back on the bike, and either just bend it back by hand or use a short length of pipe to bend it back Wrap a little tape around the spot of actual bend, use the pipe, put the lip of the pipe at the bent spot, then bend. These lever are really soft. The last time I straightened one I just bent it by hand. Do not use heat! That will lead to a mess.

Bar end. Use a propane torch to heat the screw, move the tip of the flame around the screw head. This will soften the loctite that's holding the screw in place. After a minute or two, try with proper JIS screwdriver. If it doesn't budge, more heat. Once the loctite is melted the screw just comes out. Attempting removal without heat will lead to severe disappointment!
