So when you find an empty parking lot to practice in...
...make sure you find one without berms.
Yeah, I hit a parking berm and toppled while practicing U-turns the other day. Some scraped fairings and a couple major cracks on the right front fairing. Flooded the carbs (causing a few minutes of panic when the bike wouldn't start until I figured out what was wrong), but no non-cosmetic damage other than that. Everything's still running fine, and I'm keeping the scarred fairings as a reminder of humility. |

Sorry, what are berms?
Sorry for your mishap as well.

Those concrete blocks to keep cagers from hitting each other in parking lots:

Not to be a captain know-it-all, but those are concrete curbs, parking curbs, wheel stops, etc. a berm is a mound on the ground designed for some reason, to either provide separation, etc. basically, berm is a term used in landscaping, not parking lots... When you said berm, I was picturing a grass covered berm separating the isles in a parking lot, and thinking maybe you decided to pretend you we're on a sumo.
But anyway, yes, stay away from those things. Sorry to hear about the bike. |

My mistake. Going on what I'd always heard them called. Curb it is.
