Ecotrons and Koso Question
Looking into the ecotrons efi kit and koso gauge for a winter mod. My question is has anybody installed a ecotrons efi kit and a koso gauge. If so does it the gauge work properly and was there anything extra needed to get the gauge to work. How is the fuel gauge working on the koso gauge. Just let me know all of your valuable info on running both. I am also doing a full yoshi exhaust, emission delete, airbox delete, and running the K&N air pod. Should be nice when done.

I've got everything you've listed, removed air box, snorkel delete, K&N Pods, full Yoshi, Ecotrons and Koso among other things. The gauge cluster as a whole works great, only the fuel gauge is off by quite a lot. On the 100 ohm setting, on a full tank (as in, just filled it up) the fuel gauge will say that I'm at just over half a tank. When you actually get to half a tank it will register pretty much empty. On the 530 ohm setting (or whatever the other one is) it will register nearly full even while on an empty tank. I chose to stick with the 100 ohm setting and to wait for the very last gas bar to go away. It seems that I have about .7-1.1 gallons left at that point which isn't all that bad. Just ignore it while it sits there and flashes at you claiming to be out of gas lol.

I never had a problem with the gas gauge and the KOSO dash. I will have to check which setting I use.

The main difference that I noticed switching from the carbs to the EFI was how easy the cold starts were (obviously a main point, but I included it nonetheless) and the power on the low end around idle.

I have the Yousi and it has a removable baffle. I use it as my street exhaust. Compared to the Nojima system it is quieter. I think it is OK and I don't like loud pipes.
Removing the air box will increase the volume of the engine noise. |

I kind of wish I would have bought my Ninja stock at times, mine came already modified, I wouldn't even know what the stock airbox looks like.
Did you ever get the opportunity to look up which resistance setting you are using for your fuel gauge @Racer x?

You did not miss anything. You would have a box of parts in the garage and an exhaust hanging from the ceiling.
I will check my settings tonight . I will also test my sender. I think you might have a sender problem. |

I cant find any record of what I set it at. I replaced the original unit I used when I had a gas gauge. I did measure the resistance, ,It was 40 ohms full and 200 ohms empty.

You have the RX-2 right? You can just go back to the settings menu by clicking and holding both buttons for 3 seconds and cycling through the individual things. Something tells me you already know that though and there's another reason why you can't find it lol.

The reason I can't do that is the dash I have now has never had gas a gauge. I broke my first Rx2 so I bought a new one.

I deffinently want to do the ecotrons kit but I may not do the koso gauge. I think that the stock gauge does what it needs to do and I kind of dig the new white faced gauges. So I may just buy a new cluster and see if I can swap over the gauge faces or use the new cluster if the miles are close. I really would like a fuel gauge and if the koso does not work properly than I would rather stick with oem since it works. I may still do it but as of right now I don't know if it is worth the money. I am thinking new rims with the 4.5 wider rear and a bigger rear tire first.

Well after reading so much about both the efi and gauge I may not do either. I do not want to have to hassle with the efi everyday to get the system to run properly and I want the gauge to work without flaws as well. I have not heard anyone just install either product and they just work.

its know as a vocal minority. the same people that complain about video games. 98% of the people like or have no issues with something, but that 2% complain and complain and complain and make the public perception of the thing bad.

The efi is great. I'm just retarded at times and got myself all backwards because I take a little longer than I should to grasp new concepts sometimes. (again, ask alex.s about the day he tried to explain how the internet works... ) Its coming along nicely now.
I should add though, I'm not pushing you into anything. Just take your time and read about things. If you have any questions about the efi kit, email Matt. He really knows his stuff and does his best to answer questions for you. Posted via Mobile Device |

No haha but they need to think in terms of a 20 year old so I think I can explain it
This is the internet EDITED Your dick is your connection and the women are internet servers. When you have a website you want to go to you head on over to that "port" and plug in. Your internet pleasure is dependent on the size of your connection. If you are rockin 56k you can motion any way you want but you're going to have a bad time (and the server will laugh at you). Now remember there are millions of men plugging into these ports so even though they look nice and clean they are really festering with viruses. You're going to want an internet security program for that. I'd recommend purchasing Malwarebytes full version. It's thin walled protection that is going to give you maximum internet pleasure. You can also use Norton or McAfee but they are sort of the glad heavy duty of internet protection. Cumbersome and bulky, they are going to slow you down (and sometimes be uncomfortable ouch!) Becareful when using the internet. Never drink and surf. You want to stick with attractive sites in the range of a 7-10 This is ninjette EDITED This is 4chan, DO NOT GO THERE

It is the 2% I guess that I have been reading about. I will see what happens after I install the yoshi and do the removal of the air box and emission delete. I will have the carbs jetted and shimmed and whatever needs done and see how I feel about the bike then. I am not trying to diss the products but I have heard alot of problems and do not want to be in the 2%. I have e-mailed Matt and talked to him on several occasions.
