Crazy Idea

So me and my buddy bought Kayaks last night and getting them home in our subcompact cars was not an enjoyable process. So I thought what if I used an even smaller vehicle to move it. Could it be possible to safely move a 50 pound, 8 foot object with a ninja 250? A simple google search brought me to this page
http://www.oceankayak.com/fishing/bl...ide_kayak_car/
If a vespa can pull it there is certainly no worry in my mind of the 250 pulling it. I am curious if the 250 frame could work for attaching such a thing to it?
anyone done anything like this?

just for laughs- http://vimeo.com/39500327

The hullmet is just plane crazy. Any kind of wind and off goes your head. Also I know that "helmet" is not DOT approved.

Having used side-cars for some time, I like the trailer concept (single or dual wheel) better for anything: much better balance and handling.

http://www.castlecraft.com/canoe_trailer.htm

http://www.klr650.net/forums/showthread.php?t=69887

Even simpler than what the picture shows, one end of the kayak could be fixed to the wheel(s) and the other end to a coupling mechanism attached to the bike, using the body of the kayak as a bridge.

Just a couple of crazy ideas

@atomicrm - I feel crazy saying this but that side car would be sweet...I have been trying to figure out how to carry my golf clubs on my scoot...found a harness/mount but it was like $350 so I said f that...but the side car deal would have more potential for kayak, golf bag, and other crazy things...

I'd go sidecar long before I ever rode with a trailer. Trailers are dangerous on a bike. That thing flailing around behind you yanking the rear all over the place at highway speeds is nuts. Not to mention what happens when a bearing seizes as is known to happen on trailers, or it gets a flat.
