Ohio MSF Dirtbike

@snot @NDspd @csmith12 @choneofakind

So back in March, Chris (@choneofakind) mentioned about going to the MSF dirtbike course for the day. Did some research and it is only $50 in Troy, Ohio. MSF provides the bike and the gear for the day.

The date which has been scheduled for this event is Saturday, July 14th @ 11am. I know it is kind of last minute but it would be a great ninjette meet. I reserved 8 spots of the group event and I have two friends who will be joining and I know @csmith12 will be joining also.

So if you're interested in coming, please PM by this Wednesday at Noon so I can send the registration form for the event.

I got bad news. I can't make this. I hit a cow in my cage. Yes, I said a cow. Now I have to handle this crap instead of having fun. No steaks out of the deal either. Insurance is going to take care of the repairs ($500 deductible).

So I am heading to the store to get some milk and out of the tall grass comes a juvenile cow. I tried to stop and swerve but it was to late, front end took a hit. Bumper, grill, marker/head light and radiator will need replaced.

I am super bummed because I am just getting back into riding dirt after 15 years and wanted to be taught good techniques, rather than the trial and error that got me through my mid-teen years.

Somebody go to this and pick up my slack and take notes for me. Have a blast and I expect a full report w/ pics.

Well, if you had waited a few years, you could have hit the cow AND gotten milk! Glad you didn't get hurt; I've seen what deer can do, much less a cow.

The doctor days I'm healing as expected, but I'm not sure I'm ready for long distance trips on my own just yet

Let's reschedule this if possible. I have known about this for a few weeks but others haven't. Let's set a new date and hit it, hopefully without any issues.

Unfortunately, I can not reschedule since I have already planned weekend vacation trips and only a month n half til class starts. Will you be getting a rental while ur car is in the shop?

BTW, why did the cow cross the road?

I would be interested in this, possibly. It depends on the date and how far I would have to drive as I know there is one about 30-40 miles from my current location.

I had hoped to take the MSF BasicRider Course and the Dirtbike course this summer, but only accomplished one.

I'm in Richmond right now, but my there is talk with my bosses of moving to Frankfort in Dec/Jan. It looks like Troy is only about 3-4 hours away, so it wouldn't be too bad of a drive.

I couldn't find a schedule for their 2015 events yet. Seems like most orgs right now are still working their schedules.

I also did a bit of research on this as well. It will be a very basic course and assumes that the rider has never ridden a dirt bike before.

Here it is 2015 and I have been back into dirt for 2yrs now. I would love to take my son and daughter to this when we do it. I hope they post their schedule soon.

Ok, so this place is where I took my MSF class for my endorsement. I know exactly where it is and... I can see the course. The way they work is, in the next month or 2 the schedule will be posted. Once it stays light after 6 (or I remember on a weekend) I can try to take some pics and post them if the course. I know there is only 1 dirt mound (can be seen frrom the street).
Oh and it is less than 10 min. from me.

I would be interested, but since it's a MSF course I would assume this. I'd be more likely to participate if it was something along the intermediate to advanced level.

This is also the place I took my endorsement, but there's like 2 little hills. I'd rather join my friend in NC and have him teach me on a GS1200.

Frankly I don't have the time anymore....I'm a working man now...bummer

If it was just me, I would agree. Let's do something more advanced. But I will be honest with you cats. I want to start my kids off right, but.... if they can't make the date. I don't mind doing something different.

I have a 100 acres behind my house to get dirty in. We can do a formal dirty msf or just go get dirty somewhere. I have a couple of dirt bikes, if you name a time and place, I will bring what I got and we will sling some mud.

I am not sure it would be worth the drive up for you. I still need to go by and take some pics, hard to do right now. Give me a little time and more daylight and I will at least post pics of Honda's course.

Can't say I would be able or even interested in making this particular thing but I am always up for trying to meet people to ride in the dirt. I would like to make a trip this year somewhere new to ride. WV, KY, TN IDK?
