Focus group needed

Hi, I'm looking for 2 or 3 ninjette members who would be willing to critique a couple of bike luggage related products I have thought up while riding around on my 2fity.

I would just post them here, but I want them to remain as confidential as possible until it gets made or I abandon the ideas.

So let me know if you would be willing to help me out!

Sounds like the tailbag is about as popular as a garlic milkshake, but the nosebag may have some legs.

Another simple thought for storage instead of a windshield bag (nose bag doesn't sound right... made me think it was something hanging off the front of the bike):

Make a plastic lip that is even with the face of the gauge cluster, about an inch or two high. Low enough to get your hand in between it and the windshield, but high enough to keep casual items from falling out when you hit a bump.

This could be a rotomolded plastic piece. If designed right, it could simply snap in place, no tools. The initial producion cost would be pretty high, though... the molds for rotomolding are expensive.

Or, if you want to get fancy, make a hinged "glove compartment" door.

Regarding the bag...

In my comments I brought up the potential issue of the velcro adhesive used to attach it to the gauge cluster going bad due to heat/uv/etc. exposure. I proposed one alternative, which is to figure out a way to use the windshield mounting bolts to hold the bag.

I've been thinking about it since, and here's another idea for mounting:

Use some sort of high-grip material (rubberized?) on the outside of the bag, and incorporate some kind of stiffening structure into the bag's construction so that when you shove it down in that cavity it wedges in place securely.

All you really need to do is make it secure enough to not pop out while riding.

Bag size....

Speaking only for myself, I'd use it to carry:

The contents of my pockets:
- Wallet
- Cash/coins
- Cell phone
- iPod
- Knife

Stuff I want within reach on the bike:
- Kickstand pad and string
- Tire gauge
- Small camera, maybe (rarely).
