Safety course and gloves

Well this weekend I am off to do my safety course and they require gloves. So I went to my local motorcycle store and they have a crap selection. They had a few pairs of glovew that looked like they wouldnt hold up, a pair of icons in the wrong size and a few pairs of motocross gloves. I ended up with a pair of small (my size) Fox Bomber gloves in black.

Are they motorcross gloves? If so, you should be fine for the class. I would get something with more protection for street riding though.

Did you remove the tags yet? Most courses provide helmets and gloves (give them a call and ask). If your heart isn't set on those Fox gloves, return them and order some online that has a better selection.

well good luck on your class. those would be fine for class, and plus usually they have some gloves for you to use, but their crap too...but like Lisa said, you might want to invest in some good ones for when you actually ride on the road.

For the safety course, I would recommend the lightest glove possible, so that you can get used to the controls without the bulk of a heavy glove.

I love the following workgloves from Home Despot:

(yes, I know the risks they present vs. real riding gloves)

They suggest bringing your own because they dont have many pairs and the class is bookrd. The gloves are nice.. have knuckle protection has some leather on the palm. They also fit nicely, so I dont mind using them and having them as an extra pair once I get a different pair later on. The guy at the store says these gloves are what he wears in summer and he has an Icon insulated pair for winter.

Gloves! How are you going to ever get calluses?

I wore mechanix gloves during the MSF class. They don't really care as long as they aren't the disposable latex kind (yes the instructor said somebody came with those one class).
