My zx7 rebuild blog
Not sure if this is the right place to post but...
I sold my 250 in the beginning of this year and picked up a 2003 ZX7. Then a few months later I picked up another (1992) ZX7 with hopes of restoring it to its former glory. Personally I think the 91-92 ZX7 is one of the nicest looking bikes ever so I hope to do mine justice. Anyways just thought I'd pop by and pimp my rebuild blog. http://zixiaozx7.blogspot.com/ Hope some of you find it interesting. |

The 2006-2003 ZX7s are actually a very nice road bikes; very plush and stable. Below 8000 rpms, its like a big cuddly bear. Above 8000 rpms it will tear your face off. So as long as you ride sensibly, the ZX7 is very friendly; much more so than modern 600s. Only thing is, its a tad on the heavy.

Looks like it's coming along well! I've always liked the Zx7's!

Some more updates and a question:
This is the second time I've tried to clean some parts using a soaking solution. First I used CLR, and now Pine Sol. Each time I the results are stripped finishes on the parts and this white crap that ends up caking on the parts and on the containers. Refer to this picture: Or my blog: http://zixiaozx7.blogspot.com/ |
