GP gear shifting

Is it possible to set factory rear set for GP, or do I have to wait till I buy aftermarket? If poss. how complicated is it to change?

If someone can explain I'll attempt a DIY thread.

Maybe

Yes you can. But you will need to trim away a recess on the sprocket cover. http://www.kawiforums.com/ninja-250r...ml#post1488196

Well.. if you take a look at the gear shift lever(im going off of memory) it is attached by a rod to the footpeg. essentially one could flip the arm for the shift lever and attach the rod so the footpeg shifts register backwards... Ill draw a pic of what I mean, just theoretically right now. Ill take a look at my bike later on and see if this can be done easily.

Hope this makes any sense.

What are the advantages of GP style of shifting? Is it faster to change gears when you push down to gear up?

Yeah, faster upshifting.

For me the big shot would be the ability to turn with my left foot sitting above the lever instead of beneath it.

Its also better for your trans, you have alot more force pressing down on the pedal then pulling up which makes for a more positive shift.
