Another deal you can't refuse. Front tires anyone?

I will be collecting a $5 finders fee for this one. I'll post my PayPal information shortly for those of you that are kind enough.

Check the date code on those tires - you don't want to buy a 5 year old tire someone wants to get rid of. Many of those "sales" online are on really old tires that have been laying around unsold.

I don't think the BT016 has been out 5 years but I will be checking dates.

Would you guys suggest the BT-016s (110 & 150) or the Pirelli Sport Demons (110 & 130) for me? I commute a lot, but twisties on the weekend. I'd say about 75/25 for straight-road & highway versus twisty roads. I do 500 km on a weekend, and about the same commuting during the week. But unfortunately, a lot of straight roads to get to the twisties.

Pricewise, a little bit different, $157 for the BT016s, and $217 for the Sport Demons.

I'm still on the stock IRCs, at 13,000 km.

Thanks.

I bought these tires. I decided I wanted to save my $55, and to use out my USD cash in my US account.

Here's hoping that the 150 rear works out well. I hope it doesn't touch my chain guard, and that it's doesn't mess up my geometry too much.

The narrowest the BT016 is available in is a 150. Fits just fine.

Hi guys, I'd love to pick one of these up but would it fit my older ('05) 250 front? Right now it has 100 front/120 rear. Thx

Nope, these are all 17" tires, the 2007 and earlier bikes use 16" tires.

Whoa, that's a smokin' deal. I've been paying twice that for that front. I've only got three slow novicey track days on my current set, so I don't need it right now, but at that price it wouldn't hurt to have a fresh one (Or five) around for the future. So what's the catch? It just seems too good to be true. I think I'm going to wait until you guys get your tires in and confirm that this is as awesome as it sounds before I commit. Hopefully the deal'll last that long

Again, and I don't want to bust anybody's bubble, but call and find out how old those tires are that you want to buy. Ask them to read you the date stamp on the sidewall. I've even had a dealer try and sell me 2 year old tires and I insisted he get me new ones if he wanted my business. Many times, like the old adage, if a deal is too good to be true, it isn't.

Mine will arrive this coming week so will let you guys know what the born on date is. Isn't the rule of thumb not to get a tire six years or older? BT 016's came out in 07 and didn't catch on til 08 so still safe in my eyes (if the tires are that old). I'll get a year or two out of them so all still within 6 years

I agree plus this place doesn't seem to have a limit so I would have to assume that they are getting them from a supplier. I don't know but I think everything will be good.

What kinda bullshit is this? CycleGear seemed like a reputable company, I've never experienced this with any website. And these guys have brick & mortar stores! WTF?

Now my money is tied up with them and I need to get a rear tire ASAP. Ideas?

Maybe you should put some investigation in it yourself. Has there been any recent issues with your credit card. Make sure you have not become a victim of identity theft or anything. Also try to Google your name. I have had the Police department come to my home before looking for an arrest because there is another guy in my city that has the same name. His bill collectors call my home all the time too but I can't seem to stop it.

We found out his history and arrest record online easily to know what we are dealing with.

In the '90s I paid for large Lik-Sang.com orders using both wire transfers and bank transfers (before most people knew Lik-Sang existed). Hong Kong had only recently become part of China! It worked fine. You can usually trust bigger guys (never on eBay or Craigslist) but, in this day and age, you can't trust that the message really is from the big guys! If they told you this by phone and you got the number from a trusted source, I'd say "go ahead." Otherwise... No.

That language is crude and sounds like the typical Nigerian scam. You may have been phished.
Call them, try and put in an order, and see if they tell you this on the phone. Or look them up and see if that is their phone #. Call the bank too and see if that account is legit.
That sounds totally crooked to me.
And what the hell are Shift Socks for anyway? Anyone who buys that deserves to be scammed.

I've seen 'em at local dealers. Some are marketed as if they are to keep from marking up you sneakers while others are to keep it from wearing a hole in your boot (happened to me).

So, got my tire today I ordered them on Thursday and yesterday was a holiday so not too shabby on shipping time. It ships from Utah btw.

Born on date is 34th week of 08 so about two years. I'll get a year out of them so not a bad deal at all ($49!!!).
