Question Missing idle circuit O rings? see photos...

Was cleaning carbs on my 2000 EX250. I took out idle circuit screws and springs. There were no rubber O rings below the springs. I'm guessing this isn't normal and not done for any good reason and that some PO decided he couldn't be bothered.
I'm also guessing this one of the reasons the bike will not idle. I've also replaced a torn diaphragm and cleaned everything out with carb cleaner and compressed air, follow ninja250 wiki instructions.
Anyone know the size of those tiny O rings?
thanks,
Baz

I don't see any O-rings in the service manual drawings.

Were the idle screws on your model originally blanked ? like the anti tampering stuff in some states. In which case they would be superfluous so not fitted because no air gets drawn past the threads.
(So don't necessarily blame the PO )

I'm not talking about the blanks that are fitted on top of the pilot jet (idle circuit). They were removed by some P.O.
I'm talking about the flat steel washer and rubber O ring that fit beneath the pilot jet spring. When I removed the pilot jets the washer and the O ring were both missing on both carbs, which might explain why too much fuel was leaking past the idle circuits.

No probs. I wish I knew the actual diameter of the O ring and the washer. I have a bunch of new tiny washers in my tool box and a few look as if they might fit. I'll might try them before driving 60 miles to the nearest Kawi dealer or ordering online and paying 20 or 30 bucks with shipping for a couple 20 cent parts.

No What I am saying is the carbs with blanks don't have the O rings fitted because the blank seals the idle threads.

Don't think that's true Ninjinsky. I have uncapped many EPA plugs and the spring, washer and o-ring have always been present.

Cool I Will bow to greater experience
on reflection you would need the o rings for accurate setup before re inserting the sealing blanks. re which it might be an interesting experiment to set the jets to book value and then blank the aperture with a square of duct tape or blue tack and see if the idle smooths out

(It was the op misreading and implying I was an idiot confusing the tamper blank with the o ring washers that irked me, as it would any one. )

O ring size

O-Ring - 2.7mm x 1.15mm - Keihin Fuel Screw
92055-1002

http://www.z1enterprises.com/ItemDet...tem=92055-1002

The washer is probably a smidge larger ID and a smidge smaller OD.
