New here - Looking to muffle the Muzzys

Hey everyone! Love this forum, thanks for everything so far. I picked up my 1997 250 back in October and love it to death. Came with K&N pods and Muzzys exhaust so she's pretty peppy, though louder than I'd like. I've repacked the muffler which helped, but I'm looking to make it quieter still. Ideally I'd swap the core for a Quiet Core, but I can't seem to find them for sale. What can I do? Also, here's a pic of my girl:

Thanks!
Wyatt

Right! That would probably help. I'll get some this weekend, but it looks exactly like this (full 2->1 system):

2nd this question

I'm a new rider and have the same question. I find the noise somewhat irritating, though I go appreciate the space drivers unusually give me. This may have something to with the bright leathers my uncle gave me, the bright LED bulbs I added, and the 'safety cone orange' plasti dip I added. Mostly I feel bad when I ride through a quiet neighborhood, including my own late at night. I felt especially bad this week when I had to ride 25 miles of back roads between 3 and 4:30 AM.

I saw some universal solutions online, but would appreciate any experience others have. Unless it necessitates re jetting the carbs, I'd really like something I could drop in when riding through a quiet area late at night or going for a state inspection, and take out when I want better performance or want to be heard and noticed in heavy traffic.

Well, any muffler should be quieter and won’t require re-jetting.

Measure diameter of exhaust where muffler clamps. Any muffler with that size OD pipe will fit. Look into some of the Tyga mufflers. Also if the Muzzy doesn't have any fibreglass packing, adding some will help.
