Had them on my old bike and crashed...snapped right off. The bracket is cheap metal and won't old up to anything more than a drop. |

sliders are useless on this bike. they serve a purpose on bikes that hit covers when they go down. this bike doesn't.

Thanks guys, I was going to do a track school soon and I was advised to get some sliders just in case. Won't now. Thanks.

Actually, I just wanted to protect my fairings, but I'm not so sure, coz of the harmful effects it might have on the frame in the event of a crash.

I like the peace of mind of a good frame slider so I can test the bike's cornering ability and if I lowside I just have to buy a new puck and maybe mirror.

I'd rather the 50 dollar slider take the damage than a 300 dollar fairing...

I personally think the cheap pairs are the best, for me I'm wanting them just in case I make some stupid mistake and drop the bike and they are good enough to hold up on a simple drop but the shogun frame sliders have been known to stick in the ground and cause the bike to flip or do more damage so really frame sliders are only good for little drops and tips in my opinion!

the problem is that the frame on the ninja 250 is made of soft steel tube. -- (300 is higher strength frame because the engine is no longer as much of a support, but the end result is the same- flexybike.) -- transferring all of the force of a drop away from the large, spread out area of the side of the bike/fairings, to instead only hit one or two spots on the frame... well, if you don't already see why frame sliders bend ninja 250 frames, then go right ahead and buy some then enjoy your bent up bike after you drop it. hey whats a little frame bend as long as those fairings aren't scratched!

Hah.....Alex makes a point not to many people understand...back in the day it was common for vans to sport a 4x4 or even 6x6 bumper.....hey why pay a few hundred $$ for a real bumper when you can use a RR tie ? what we figured out pretty quick was that the big wooden bumper....while destroying whatever you tapped @ 5mph....was also bending the frame of the van. So...all those old vans and pickups you see that have their rears trying to pass their front, that;s how they got that way.

I have Vortex sliders on my 636 and had Woodcraft sliders on my GSX-R600. I do not have sliders on the 250 because I also believe they will do more harm than good. If I were to buy sliders, Shogun seems to be the best ones out there. Whatever anyone decides, please don't buy metal sliders. They dig in and make a spill really interesting
