[visordown.com] - KTM to unveil electric supermoto in three weeks

KTM is three weeks away from unveiling a supermoto version of its electric off-roader, the Freeride E, Visordown can reveal.

Called the Freeride E-SM, the new version will be almost the same as the Freeride E but with road wheels, sticky tyres and bigger brake discs and calipers.

That means its specs will be almost identical to the Freeride E's too, at 30hp, 31lbft and with a weight of just 95kg. The 300-volt battery takes just 90 minutes to charge.

Official confirmation of the supermoto version, due to go on sale next year, came from KTM's PR manager Thomas Kuttruf today on the press launch of the Freeride E in Saalbach, Austria.

The Freeride E is itself an electric sibling to KTM's accomplished Freeride 350, a lightweight single-cylinder road-legal trail bike designed to master the same challenges as the firm's full-on enduro machines.

The Freeride E-SM is due to be unveiled at the Intermot Cologne motorcycle show on September 30.
