My 08 was blue and had 1700 miles on it, I paid an even 3k that can at least give you a starting point.

Ebay and craigslist if you want to save money. Ive recently seen some good deals on ebay in the Florida area. If you REALLY want a good deal you just have to be patient and maybe wait a few weeks until one pops up...then jump on it. Check ebay and CL daily. I'd say you should be able to find a low mileage new gen. between 2800 and 3500. I wouldn't pay more than 3500. Anything more and you might as well buy a brand new bike IMHO.

I just paid $2700 for an '08 with less than 3K - but it did have a couple scratches, but was never dropped. I think anywhere right around 3K is pretty fair for an '08 bike in good shape. The stealerships I visited had them over $4K OTD for '08s with very low mileage.

I'm thinking about listing mine since I don't ride enough and I hate seeing a beautiful bike sit around.
If I list, I'm probably going for around 3500-3600. I DO think it's a little high for an 08, however it's the only year you can get a solid green 250r (I know someone with a brand new red 2010 who wants to trade with me flat out because he wants the green). My bike is also in perfect condition without a scratch and a hair over 1k on the miles.... Also, I'm not in a rush to sell. If it sells, I got a good price, if not, I have a good bike. There's no loosing. Most of the 3k deals are people that just want to get rid of the bike for one reason or another. I'm thinking if it sells, I may end up with an old get 250 if I can find one under 1500. Of course that means getting off my ass and listing the bike.

Just bought my 2008 for $2000 off craiglist. Has 2000 miles, some scratches and a cracked fairing - which is ok - it will make it easier to swallow when I dump it for the first time.
