Yoshimura Fender Eliminator

I just got my Yoshimura fender eliminator kit in the mail, and since I noticed there weren't too many pictures of what's in the kit, I decided to take some for anyone considering purchasing it.

Please try to ignore the dirty carpet, I really should have taken these in my shop, but I just couldn't wait.

Box

Fender eliminator bracket

Another shot of the bracket

License plate bracket and LED light

And a shot of the other side

Another shot of the LED light

License plate frame

Hardware

Some more hardware

The quality of the parts speak for themselves, the kit really is worth the $100 it costs. I can't wait to install this tomorrow and post up some pics of it on my bike.

Nice. I'm considering buying this set
Can you post some close up fitment shots once you have them on your bike?

Just got into the motorcycle scene. And would definitely like to get a fe kit. Where did you guys buy the kit?
A quick search online and I get to the motorcycle-superstore.com at $117
Any other vendors? Experiences with motorcycle-superstore?

Thanks trixter! I'll probably order from indysuperbike since it's cheaper.
I'm assuming this is good for the '12 too?

I also got mine from indysuperbikes.com as well. Can't beat $99.99 and free shipping!

I installed the kit this past Saturday and took a bunch of pictures, but I've been relatively busy this week and haven't had a chance to post them up. I'm hoping I can get them up tonight.

I will say that the instructions that are included with the kit are very simplistic to say the least. But not to worry, if you can use simple logic and some tools, the kit isn't very hard to install at all.

Thanks!

So here are some of the pictures I took from installing the kit this weekend.

I don't know if you absolutely had to remove the rear fairings to install the kit (the instructions really are extremely simple), but it did make accessing things really easy.

Other side

Here's what it looks like after installing, but before putting the fairings back on.

Closer shot.

Tag with frame installed.

Different angle.

Close-up of everything installed.

I really like the kit a lot; definitely looking forward to getting a full Yoshimura exhaust soon.

Wow, that is super clean. And it looks like you even get to keep the cargo hooks (which every other kit seems to delete)? Awesome, I would be ordering one if I didn't already DIY mine.

Cut the fender off with a dremel, bend up some brackets from Home Depot, and wire in some LED license plate bolts. There's a whole thread about it somewhere.

How did you get the black stock signal holder detached from the OEM fender?

ANSWER: (Dreamed about it so much I found the answer after a good night's rest! )

You have to drill out the rivets on the stock fender that hold up the turn signals...

I had trouble taking the screw out to disassemble the stock signal holders from the fender. Ended up stripping the screw

That looks awesome. I have a targa fender eliminator. Also if you dont' want the cops on you for the fender eliminator, you should get some sort of reflector in the back. I got two reflector screws for the license plates.

Hello...I am new to the forum and recently received the same kit. I was wondering what wiring you have to do for the plate light. It doesn't look to plug and play but have yet to tear into mine. Any insight on what wiring you had to do?

Thanks!

If you got the yoshimura fender eliminator, I think the plate light was plug and play

As you can see from the pic, it's definitely not "plug and play". You have to splice the yoshi wires to stock wires. You can do this using the supplied connectors. It's all in the instructions.

Nice pics!

I bought the same kit myself and absolutely love it, especially when compared to the bs pastic Hot Bodies fender eliminator kit I bought for the gf's bike.

Instead of using supplied connectors to wire in the plate light, I cut off the wires from the stock light to the factory connector and soldered the Yoshi wires to the stock wires then wrapped them in some nice heat shrink tube.

The light is plenty bright, bolted up nice and easy, perfect fitment, and even holds my aftermarket signals perfectly with no issues.

Def. worth the buy!

If you're not doing anything to attract police attention it shouldn't be a problem. Have had mine on for a year with integrated taillight

Of course it depends on the demographics, but in most situations, fenders are required by law, so they can't make that type of decision as it's not up to the manufacture.
