That's probably the ideal if we have a larger group. I'd likely be around for all of it if I'm able to make the date

how about this, May 9th-13th thats friday till tuesday, that way we can all just show up when we can, we will just have a "check in" type thing where we meet up in the same spot each of the days at certain times that way ppl just getting in can meet everyone and then ride together?

That might work but moving it back a two weeks works better as I believe that's my exam week leading into it.

My exams are that week, regular classes end the 9th and the next week is exams. Basically push it back 1 week and I can do it, 2 weeks and it works out perfectly for me though I can do one week later (and likely any other collegiate members)

I will join the group here and once it gets closer to time I'll know if I can join. I've been wanting to ride or drive the dragon for years now. I'll try to have a trailer by then so I can haul my klx out. Or get a more interstate capable bike and then just ride out. So all I'm saying is there is a chance I can attend.

This sounds really cool, and I'm not too too far away. But I've only been riding for 5 months and don't feel I'm experienced enough for something like this yet. But maybe next year!

I live in MD. It would take about 8-10 hours. But I work Mon-Fri 9-5 so I wouldnt be able to come out for a practice run. I'll ride some local twisties the day you all meet up though, so I'll be there in spirit hahah.

Good for you knowing your limits and sticking within them! I agree as someone who went to the mountains a bit too early my first time, get comfortable with daily riding first.

dude, I can escort you down and there wouldn't be any issue getting there. We'd be going with the flow of highway traffic most of the time. Long trips are easier with another person or two. You don't want to speed while touring anyway and the dragon can be taken at whatever pace you're comfortable with, that includes a snail's pace and you'll still enjoy it.

keep in mind cruisers run this road a lot and the speed limit is low, you can always say "well I didn't want to get a ticket so I went the speed limit"
totally understand if you don't want to/can't make it though, but most jobs that I have experience with have vacation time that you can pull from so long as you give advanced notice.

we should also hit up some local MD twisties sometime this spring, I live in them but I'm pretty far north of you so I'd prob head down and meet up somewhere on the east side of baltimore, we'd probably find some nice roads near blackwater.

Hmm, I would definitely feel more comfortable riding 9 hours with someone else as opposed to by myself. The weather should be warming up too here in MD. And that should give me some time to get more used to twisties. And yeah man we should definitely hit some twisties up once the weather here makes up its mind. I'll play it by ear and see how I feel closer to the date, after practicing some more.

"if you don't like the weather in baltimore, wait an hour" there's a reason this saying exists. Our weather never really makes up it's mind, but I still can't wait for the winter to go away.
