Need help with 88-94 CDI wiring

So I ordered a wiring harness of ebay that was listed as it came off a 89 ninja 250. I also got a 92 CDI box p/n 1229, from my understanding they're both compatible. I just receive the parts but the wires going to the connectors seem to be going to the wrong pins. Furthermore my harness doesn't even have red cable. Is it possible I was sent the wrong harness? I'm confused and I've searched and looked at the diagrams and it seems wrong. Can anyone confirm this or give me some insight as to what's wrong? I'mn ot that savvy when it comes to electronics and cables. But I need to figure it out before I start slicing into my bike to try mod it to the old CDI..

That's what I figured, I guess I'll try a wiring harness for the same year as the box.. Thanks

http://www.ninjette.org/forums/attac...1&d=1251408231 only 7 wires will be used, since the '88-94 CDI only has 7 connections, i used sprade connectors putting each wire onto each pin individually to make my own harness, was just a matter of connecting 6 matching pairs of colored wires. The one remaining wire pair is (solid Red ['88] and Brown with black stripe ['08+]and i was done.following this racerX link above..
