Cleaning/lubing speedometer cable

So, I didn't see a DIY for this. If I missed it, please either link me to it or merge this.

This thread has two purposes,

1) can someone who knows what they are doing check to see if I did this right?
2) If I did do this right, hey look, DIY!

Last weekend, noticed my digital speedometer started acting bizarre. It was giving me the digital equivalent of the needle bounce one gets when the cable is bad. Suddenly, I was going 70, 40, 65, 75, 50, etc. and my odometer was all sorts of wrong. All signs seemed to point to my cable.

Following the instructions here: http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Lubing_...edometer_cable, I got to work.

*Note, I have the adaptor for the stock cable to the Koso gauge, so yours may not look the same.

1: Unscrew the cable housing.
I did both ends to clean and check everything, instructions say only the bottom end is necessary

2: Gently pull the cable out of the sheath.

3: Carefully wipe the cable clean, inspecting it for any wear and tear (kinks, bends, breaks), then lightly goop it up with moly grease

4: Gently slide the cable back into the sheath

5: Look into the small plastic piece on the tire and line the slot at the end of the cable up with the bar inside. Then screw it back together.

6: Insert the smooth square end into the top connection, and reattached.

Viola!
