Ninjette (belated) Member of the Month - August 2015 (dcj13 and Invisibill)

It's that time again! (actually a little past that time) As always, to be on the ballot, you need to be in the top 10 of posts for the past month. I'm excluded, as is anyone who has won in the past 12 months. The current listing is always up here: top posters, under the quicklinks menu.

The criteria to win is up to the voter. Most helpful, least helpful, least annoying, most annoying, best avatar, it's open season. Winner gets to choose a privilege that I can reasonably fulfill. Larger avatar size? Want to auto-welcome newbies? More PM space? Special phrase under username in addition to custom user title? Skies the limit, as long as it doesn't cost anything, and I can code it in 8 minutes or less. The winners get all the same privileges as a group, so you get the benefit of whatever the earlier folks (and later folks) asked for as well.

One of the last pictures of Frank (as a 17 year old). Frank was a well-loved member of the family. He was liked in the neighborhood because he kept the rat population down (doesn’t every neighborhood have the messy house with the garbage in the back yard?). Frank died in June 2001. He’s buried in the back yard with a flowering bush planted atop. I say hello to him when I mow the lawn.

awwwwh! Kinda morbid. On one hand, it's sad and cute, on the other it's kinda funny, riding by on the mower, "hey frank, how are you doing today? Kids causing more trouble? How did your house painting project go?"

Since we don't have a dog or cat at this time, neighbor cats spend a lot of time in our yard. In the winter, they like to sit on warm car hoods: lots of paw prints!

I've heard horror stories about them sitting under car hoods where it's even warmer. Make sure you tap on the hood or throw your dog in there or something before starting the car.

Sage advice!

Prettywife's car has a lot of plastic shielding on the underside of the engine/tranny. It would be a very small creature that could get in there. (13 fasteners require removal to get to the oil filter!).
