Need help with gearing for PIR
Hi - I'm new to racing and am hoping to get some input into sprocket sizes for the Ridge, Pacific Raceways & PIR. I ran a 17/54 at the Ridge last week but was hitting the rev limiter just after pit wall. I heard some guys are running 14/45 but that works out to be about just a few mph faster at the end of the straight and I'm thinking I'm going to need to go taller than that. Any suggestions??
PS: I'm running a 428 chain and weigh 120 lbs. PPS: My first race is at PIR so that is the highest priority at the moment. :-) |

Depending on rear tire, I run a 18/57 for a 140 rear, and an 18/55 for the 120 rear. This seems to work well at the Ridge and Pacific.

Thanks Sean. Appreciate that. I have a 120 rear.
