Targa FE question

I was super excited about getting the Targa FE kit for Christmas, but when I opened the box I was a little discouraged. I didn't know there were plastic pieces that were simply attached by double face tape...Also The pieces are not identical and one of them is cut crooked. Has anyone had this problem? It seems like a crap way to complete the look and I might return the kit. I debating on getting a Projekt D FE kit if I return the Targa.

If you can return it, you should. I was less than impressed too. Didn't even use the stupid plastic pieces (they fit like ****). and the plate light they included lasted me about a month before it burnt out. Complete crap product IMO...

Yeah, thanks for you thoughts. I didn't install it, but I feel the same way. I can't believe that's the way you have to finish it off. I'm probably returning it and ordering the Projekt D FE Kit. It seems to be a solid piece, anyone want to weigh in? Or is this another crappy kit?

Return it and think also about the Evotech kit. It gets good reviews and has a reputation for better quality than the Targa, but is still no-cut easy install. This is the direction I went due to quality/fit concerns with Targa.
These guys sell the Evotech kit.

That said, I haven't recieved the Evotech kit yet, and the ProjektD seems to have gone over well on this board, with thread here.

I called Targa today to get a RMA # and they are not very friendly and I was put on hold about 3 times. They said they have never had a problem with the kit and they've sold over 5,000 of them. The complaints department happened to not be available when I called.

If you are able to return the Targa Kit, I would highly recommend the Projekt D FE. I have it on my Ninja and I have been completely satisfied with it. It's a little pricey, but worth the money and looks very clean. I assure you none of it is plastic at all. All pieces are steel. Definitely check out the thread about it that gfloyd linked.

I went with R&G Racing Tidy Tail and I'm really happy with it. Pictures here:
