Newb rider finally got one

Well, I passed my MSF course (four people dropped during the quick braking portion of the exam!) nearly a month ago, but have been searching for months for a 250R that wasn't outrageously priced. It seems that in the Philadelphia area, depreciation does not determine a fair market value.

For Fathers Day, I bought myself a 2009 SE with 4500 miles. A couple of chips on the tank due to a lack of a tank guard, but pretty good condition otherwise. The chain needs a good cleaning and lube, but seems okay. Runs great. I'm pleased, $2500 in the middle of the riding season, in a crazy market where people routinely ask for $3800-5000 for the new gen.

Couple of questions. He added a Two Brothers exhaust slip-on. His receipt says its a 4-2-1, and he paid over $500. Is there an easy way to identify if this is a slip-on or a full exhaust? He did have a jet kit installed as well.

He had the 600 mile inspection done at the dealer, but no other oil changes beyond that. I've read that some of our more learned members here changed their oil two or three times before the 600 mile inspection. I'm going to change the oil (he's pretty sure he had it done once again, but no documentation) to synthetic, but do I have to worry about this at all? As mentioned before, it runs great and he drove it 70-odd miles to me in stop-and-go city traffic to complete the deal.

Pics on the way. Can't wait to get started riding in the real world. Unfortunately, I live in a hilly part of Philadelphia, with stop signs and stop lights at every corner (that no one obeys). Plus one major street has a 17% grade in one section...

...and of course, pictures of the bike are mandatory.

have fun, ride safe.

Congratulations on the new bike.
The exhaust on your bike is not a 4-2-1. That stands for: 4 cylinder exhaust ports merged into 2 pipes and then merged into 1 exhaust pipe/muffler. Yours is a 2-1.
A full exhaust normaly replaces the stock headers/pipes with larger diameter pipes. One way to tell would be to compare yours to a stock bike.

Yes, and yes. I'm in Wissahickon, a stone's throw from the Wissahickon train station. Manayunk won't have us, and the locals won't be associated with Roxborough.

What's the best way to park on a hill? Facing up- or downhill? Currently, I have it on 45 degree angle, in gear, steering locked, facing up hill with its back tire resting on the curb.
