Check out my DIY engine stand

I've made a few things for my Ninjette that aren't necessary, but add ease and function to its maintenance. Past examples include:
1 - Super secure tank holder
2 - Wheel holder
3 - Valve shim matrix

and now the latest addition..... (wait for it), an engine stand!

This is a project very few here will need, but something I found VERY handy since purchasing a second engine off ebay. Prior to constructing this stand, my old engine was precariously positioned on scraps of wood, and occasionally tipped over and rested on its water tube. Although I intend to add casters to the bottom of this stand, I currently have it placed securely on top of a furniture/movers dolly. The engine fits VERY securely in its new stand, and can be rolled around the garage with ease. The stand technically does not make contact with the engine, but supports bolts that are through the front and bottom-rear engine mounting points. The entire stand was built with scrap wood from by garage. I only needed to purchase the long mounting bolts. Also, a special thanks to my brother-in-law for help with the design and construction!

Here are some pics of the build-up:

The basic engine supports. Note: the right and left "mounting hooks" are cut differently to account for differences in clearance.

The exterior frame is beginning to take shape.

Another test-fit.

I discovered late in construction that the front cross-support of the external frame needed to be removable. Although not essential, it eases the job of taking the engine in and out of the stand. Here is a construction pic of the solution in progress.

Dowel connector cleaned up a bit.

The front cross-piece can now be lifted off the dowels to place/remove the engine. It is actually more secure than it may look.

And here is the engine in the completed stand!

For it to be a DIY, it should have dimensions :/

You're right. Technically I didn't intend for this thread to be an actual DIY... just showing it off. If anyone actually is going to build one, I wouldn't mind taking measurements. But, since hardly anyone here really needs an engine stand, I didn't think it was necessary.
