I'm having a gas leak, and I suspect it's coming from my carburetor. I'm finding a brownish-orange residue on the left side of it, and slightly underneath onto the float cover. Any ideas what might be wrong? I was thinking of just pulling the carburetor off and going back through the ritual of installing it again, but it seems it gets harder and harder to get it back into the air box. Weigh-ins?

Wrap some toilet paper around the carb in order to identify the source.

The main suspect is a float's valve that is not closing properly, due to hardened soft part or due to debris or hard deposits on the seat of the valve.

For that to happen during stopped time, the cockpit must be allowing some fuel to flow down into the bowl as fuel slowly leaks out from there via the bowls' seal.

It could also be the draining valve at the bottom of the bowl.
