Hello all,

I have a 2001 Ninja with a hole in the gas tank due to rusting. I'm planning on replacing the gas tank and wanted to know where I should look for the new bolts and washers. The gas leak ate away at the ones that were on there.

Liz,

the hole can be repaired with JB weld instead of buying a new tank.

I bet the hole was due to using the wrong length screws that hold the fairings on?

yes, I'm saying I bet those holes she has are from the fairing screws and over time rusted over. I was trying to see if she was going to say they are indeed in that location.

I read... perhaps I'm reading too much into her post. a lot will cleared up a lot when she responds.

Very true. It is possible that what you're thinking is the case, but my initial impression was that gas leaked out of whatever hole and ended up all over the bolts etc. We shall see! ;)
