Just changing the spark plugs.

I think this is considered healthy from looking at pictures online.
Your opinion?

looks a bit lean to me, but acceptable, especially if your bike's jetting has not been touched.

it certainly looks like it was time to change them though. How many miles on them and what was the gap when you took them out?

Looks like there somewhat worn. Some new spark plugs would not be a bad idea.

Looks like normal wear to me. How many miles did the spark plugs have?

12k miles lol.
kelly, I didn't measure the gap on the old ones, but I did on the replacement.

if you measured the gap on the ones you took out, you would have known how worn they were. You can assume that when the plugs were installed they were gapped to the recommended specs.

12k?? a bit overdue are we? :) is it 7.5k miles on the pregens, too?

well, it just says to check, clean, and gap every 3k miles.
I still have the old ones, I'll check tomorrow.

new gen owner's manual simply tell you to replace them every 7.5K miles.

you'll most likely notice a smoother running bike with the new plugs. keep the old ones... you never know when a plug might fail/foul and you will need a backup. At least you're sure the old ones work. :D

Ok, rode to the MSF class this morning and boy, it did not sound good at all.
I also had a just a slightest hesitation too.
Called up my trusty scooter mechanic buddy and watched the master do the valve adjustment right. He said I was very close, but it was just that little bit I was off.
He also help me do the carb sync while we were at it.

My odometer reads 12,4XX and I am done with 12k service, complete with new front and rear tires...
I just got home, and now I have to wake up in 5 hours to go the the 2/2 day of MSF course.

Good luck Mark and good night...
