My ninjette is soon to be needing a 4000 miles service. I am doing the servicing myself. I'll be doing the usual oil/filter change and clean/adjust chain.

Mate you're on an extinction list if you don't check blind spot by turning your head. If you head is stiff do some simple exercises to relief stiffness. Don't rely soly on your mirrors.

Colour doesn't really matter because accident occurs even if your brightly seen. What will make you more visible to other cars are; learn to lane position and never ride in the blind spot etc......

Yes the soft "clunk" sound you hear from 2nd to 1st gear is completely normal. It's not normal only if you hear grinding noise or any other noise.

This happened to me once as well and it turned out I didn't have enough free play in my clutch 2 - 3mm. Check that and if it is still doing that you may have bigger problem.

My clutch didn't have 2-3mm free play firstly. I had it adjusted to about 1mm because I found it annoying when it had too much free play but now I had it readjusted....

Alot of my mates uses Motul but it's alot more expensive and I can't find it at any auto shops near me so I us Mobil 1 fully synt 15w50 mc oil.
