but in the big scheme of things....

A:you did it
B: you learned for next time

***********************************************************
My learning experience for today....re doing a Harley Davidson (made by Keihin) 40mm CV "pumper" carb.....very similar to EX. For the accelerator pump Keihin used a diaphragm very similar to that used in the decel valve on your EX carbs. And a big, fat float valve...again so similar...but huge in diameter.

The pump diaphragm is decomposing...the float valve tip has a wear ring and the whole tip is tilted...so both parts are shot. The pilot mixture screw was frozen (I freed it) and everything is generally mucked and in need of refresh.

Sound familiar? a mid 2000 era Sportster sitting dormant for years. The owner picked it up for next to nothing. ...I'll order the required parts and easily knock this thing off. Reminds me to snap some before and after pics.

And I, too, have learned for next time.
