In replacing float valves with new today in a members 250 set I encountered a defective float valve. In wet testing, in 1 carb a very high fuel level was present no matter how I adjusted the float. Change float valve, readjust...perfecto.
The other carb with new float valve was fine.
Rare, but it happens. I can see some minor defect (a weird ripple) in the viton tip surface, though not readily apparent unless closely inspected.
Oh well, 1 defective float valve in the garbage....NEXT! And this is why we wet test...reveals error PRIOR to carb install on motorbike, saving yet ANOTHER R & R.
