Whenever I get some "spillage", I just grab the squeegee, soap it up real good, and use it to wash the top of my tank (maybe the mirrors and headlight, too). When I'm done I put it back in the "bucket" and soap it up again (to clean it for the next guy), then I grab a couple of paper towels to dry the bike (gently!).
