Some research using the part number of the resister supplied switch, comparing years where that particular switch is used....answers your question.

Using an '07 EX250...switch part number is 27005-5105 and used on 250 starting in 1995 right up through 2007. Thats gonna employ the resister.

If I'm not mistaken, i believe the resister switch made its debut on the EX500 in 1994 and same was used right until the model was discontinued in 2009.

Note I'm not inferring the 250 and 500 switch are interchangeable...just pointing out the similar years debuting and using the resister.
