Coincidence....

Just yesterday encountered grossly hogged out pilot jets during an EX500 carbset refurb. I routinely index (measure) pilot jets within my service procedures....hence my discovery.

Marked as stock jet size...supposed to be .0139" were actually hogged out to .017". Intentional or "operator error"? Dunno.

Important to know what size you're dealing with....before and after cleaning.
These would have negatively affected fuel consumption to some degree.

Owner opted to replace with new (which I stock) .....all done.
