Mid-Ohio is one of those tracks that has 2 personalities. The first 4-5 turns are pretty much point and shoot, the back half of the track lends itself to "carry the speed". You simply can't go fast here unless you can really ride.
On top of that the track is quite moody, the grip gets better the more laps you put down. Some days the grip is there, other days.... not so much. Many times the race is decided by 3 corners, turn 7 (6 in AMA), the keyhole and carousel. Drafting on the back straight is a factor as well.
