Been 1000 Places & Shook A Million Hands

Been thinking about creating this thread for a minute. I figgered I was late at best, so here goes.

My new years resolution was a bit different this year. It really wasn't for "my" benefit necessarily, but instead to impact the lives of others. Even if just with a simple handshake. While I only have a few new destinations planned, there are so many people & places in between that get lost along the way.

So far this year I have;
Visited 1 new track with 2 more planned
Made about 20+ new friends (include a gentleman wearing a kilt in the paddock who really liked his beer)
Caged/hauled 11 hours to ride for 4 hours with cool people
Meet 2 more ninjette members (non local) with a bunch more planned this year, and to buy a beer for a few ninjette members for the first time and 2nd/3rd for a few others
Meet a chick who looked just like Britney Spears working at a gas station
Helped a gent change a tire on the roadside
Gave a friend a lift to the track for free
Purchased track time for friends with no expectations in return, aside of a smile
Shared a beer with new neighbors
Taught my wife and kids to ride a bike with a clutch
Got sopping wet and muddy with my daughter & son riding in da woods

To be continued....

ps. Lingering goal is to restart the ninji travels thread with a new traveler, of which I should have done with @ally99 at JenningsGP.

Awesome! Hey, let's do Barber or another Jennings again this season and add more adventure to that list of yours!
Pretty cool goal you got there, Chris! My goal for this year was to settle into a kind of peace after the most tumultuous, chaotic, emotional year of my life. Some days I feel I've made steps towards my goal. Other days it feels like I stepped backwards a bit. The goal has positively made me reflect deeply about who I am, flaws and all, and I've taken steps to appreciate that person rather than constantly criticize her. But peace is elusive...much deeper than happiness which ebbs and flows. Life is a quest, not a destination, so I'll keep on my journey.

Good on ya for having such a goal. I believe getting out and talking to others and really listening to each other will go a long way in reducing the overwhelming mistrust of others that seems prevalent these days.

Course who am i to talk, I am one of those that hides in the living room and only "talks" to people online.

pretty refreshing to see someone make progress on a new years resolution. I tend to do my resolutions as 30 day things rather than a full year. That makes it much easier and once you do something (or abstain from doing it) for 30 days the habit is formed.

If you're planning on hitting a track remotely near MD let me know, I'm willing to drive a bit for some good times at da track.

A few pics from Jennings that most of yalls didn't get to see.

2nd pic is Atlanta rush hour traffic. I was just on the phone with Ally telling her how LATE I was gunna be. lol
After 14 hours in the truck and Ally's bike in tow, the Jennings exit sign was a welcome site that morning.

1st pic is how many riders normally come with me to the track. When we roll deep, we can buy out 1/3 of the riding spots for any given track day. And... fyi, not everyone was in that pic. Alex, Ally and a few others that left early are missing. +10 friends made that day.

Next pic is lil Jessi, cat napping while daddy was out doing his thing. She had some fun with the rubber snake. I got a pic of that too, gimme a sec.

Not everything goes according to plan either.

My friends Chris and Chris (Big Chris and Little Chris), missed an entire track day because of truck mechanical problems. Another friend Brian had a flat, how many riders does it take to change a tire? Good thing is, we had more than enough tools.

Yea... that's snow.

Consider this your invitation, start saving your pennies now. And yes... I will pick you up along the way.

You hide as much as I do, I read your ride reports. You're everywhere out west.

As far as trust goes, check this. While I was at Jennings with Alex and Ally, my rectifier went out. I always have said, there are more than enough peeps at the track to help a guy out. But... in this case, there was a guy down the paddock who had a rectifier that he was not using. He originally told me "sure come and get it". I grabbed a wrench to fetch it and when I arrived at his pit, he said "well, I dunno... maybe not". I have been to the track 40+ times, that was the first time that has ever happened. I will lend anything extra I have to a fellow racer just to get them out there on the grid, not sure what he was thinking. To each their own . I still shook his hand, told him to come up for a beer and said thanks. I did go back to my pit with a frown though . If he ever needs something and I have it, he is welcome to it and you can take that to the bank.

/end rant

Yes, but you notice I don't stop. I'm a major introvert, actually talking and meeting people terrifies me. I will gladly travel all over this globe but many adventure travelers will think I miss out on the point since I don't really meet the people, or experience the culture, or just sit down and be in the moment.

I live in a bubble. My bubble gets around quite a bit, but I'm still in my bubble.

Count me in for a Mid O date too. The only person I've met on here is @ally99, and that was by accident hahaha.
